The Chrysler Company LLC recently announced that its new nine-speed transmission system would see production at the Tipton County plant in Indiana. This reliable plant has been busy producing Chrysler vehicles for many years now and will soon be changing its priorities to accommodate brand new models like the 2015 Chrysler 200. Dealerships serving Troy are particularly excited about this premiere new model. It’s all part of the new phase of marketing strategy for the Detroit automaker.
This new flagship sedan will lead the Chrysler Company strategy for the next five years. Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne says that the plant will soon become one of the most important hubs in the world. It will be putting out 800,000 finished gearboxes to Toledo, Ohio and other Chrysler production plants.
“With the startup of TTP, we are enhancing the status of this region as the largest transmission installation in the world. Just recently, we reached the landmark numbers of 17 million four-speed transmissions and three million six-speed transmissions built in Kokomo,” said Marchionne.
This plant’s shifting capacities will help create over 2,000 new jobs and help pave the way for more 2015 Chrysler 200 models and all other models that will soon be coming from the Detroit automaker. The investment in this new technology has started all the way back in May 2013, and it’s definitely paying off now.
