As your local Chrysler dealers, we think there’s nothing more important than quality time spent with family. If you’re planning a summer vacation for your family this year, and want to spend less time and money at the gas pump, this post is for you.

Service your vehicle

According to, spark plugs, air filters, oxygen sensors, fuel injection systems, and tires are the most important parts to check if you’re having efficiency-related issues. Even a simple oil change can help with fuel efficiency. Our service center is equipped to help you with that, and we have various other Chrysler parts and services available, too.

Be mindful of your driving

When driving, coast whenever possible and utilize the cruise control feature on the highway to maintain the most efficient speed. Use of the AC can also be a drain on your gas, so use it sparingly if you can.

When it’s an option, drive less or use a rideshare

This may seem obvious, but a key step in conserving fuel is to take fewer or shorter trips and avoid travelling at high-traffic times when your engine will be soaking up extra fuel idling. Use a rideshare service like Uber or Lyft when you can split the cost of the ride with a few of your friends instead of paying a hefty price tag for gas on your own.

Remove the extras

If you have roof racks, exterior storage, or other items that may make your vehicle less aerodynamic, consider removing them when you’re not using them. Even driving with the windows down can cause extra wind resistance that will decrease efficiency.

Don’t forget to add extra air to your tires and make sure your gas cap is closed properly before you hit the road for fun times this summer. If you live near Sidney or Piqua, search for a “Chrysler dealership near me,” and you’ll find directions to our convenient dealership location.
